EyeT4All Project
What is EyeT4All?
A fun and relaxed day to introduce Information Technology to blind and partially sighted people.
BCAB believe that information Technology can assist blind and partially sighted people in their daily lives. Most people are more concerned about being able to use the computer to do the things they want, than becoming a computer expert. However, many visually impaired people may have concerns about whether it is possible for them to actually use a computer, how difficult it is to get started and whether it's affordable.
BCAB has designed an enjoyable day to introduce visually impaired people to computers and to resolve these concerns. During the day, people will use a computer with the aid of easy to use, affordable software. This will allow them to have fun with a computer whilst being supported by an experienced trainer.
How is EyeT4All funded?
The EyeT4All project is funded through grants from the Big Lottery Fund and the HBOS Foundation. Fund raising was kick started and continues to be supported through income from the sale of three Guide Cats CDs. The three CDs feature the humourous songs and poems of Les Barker, performed by well known personalities. All three CDs can be bought from the Guide Cats Shop.
Thanks to grants from the Big Lottery and HBOS Foundation, as well as sales of the Guide Cats CDs, BCAB is able to provide EyeT4All days free to groups and organisations. To find out more, please visit the EyeT4All Days page
