Guide Cats CDs

The Guide Cats CDs are the result of one man's extraordinary idea, and the incredible generosity of a great many others. BCAB member Clive Lever is the man with the idea, and driving force behind this outstanding fund raising initiative.

Mancunian folk poet, comic genius and professional idiot Les Barker has donated all of the material for each of the Guide Cats CDs. It was the name of one of Les' early poems, Guide Cats for the Blind, that set the tone for everything that came after.

All proceeds from the sale of the Guide Cats CDs goes towards BCAB's EyeT4All Project. The project introduces blind and partially sighted people to affordable and easy to use access technologies. EyeT4All days are hosted by local societies for the blind, libraries and other community centres, and are delivered by fully qualified BCAB trainers.

Guide Cats for the Blind

In the beginning, there was Guide Cats for the Blind. A double CD crammed with songs and poems by Les Barker, performed by a host of famous celebrities.

The Missing Persians File

Next came The Missing Persians File. A follow up CD, featuring even more songs and poems by Les Barker, performed by even more household names.

Top Cat, White Tie & Tails

Then came Top Cat, White Tie & Tails. A spoken word CD, jam packed with more poems from Les Barker, and read by many Guide Cats veterans and a host of new celebrities.

Cat Nav (Coming soon)

Now there is Cat Nav. The forthcoming CD, due out later this year. Full to bursting with songs from Les Barker, this CD is set to be a musical extravaganza, overflowing with some of the most amazing celebrity names yet.
