Get To Grips With...
In 2005, with the aid of a grant from Orange, We developed an exciting new way for visually impaired people to gain basic computing skills while using either the Jaws for Windows or Hal screen readers. In 2007, with the aid of grants from AOL, Microsoft and Orange, we've refined our approach based on feedback from two years of Get To Grips With... courses.
The courses focus on four of the most important aspects of using a computer:
- How to use the Windows XP operating system.
- How to use Outlook Express to manage email.
- How to get the most from the Internet.
- How to use Word to create documents.
Get To Grips With ... The Basics
We currently offer the following basic courses for Hal 7.01 and Jaws 7.0/8.0:
