Mac OS X is the Operating System (OS) produced by Apple. Mac OS x comes bundled with all Macintosh computers, including the iMac, MacBook and Mac Mini.

Mac OS X versions

The first full version of Mac OS X, codenamed Cheetah, was released in 2001. Since then Apple have released several versions of the OS, including:

• Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger
• Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard
• Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard
• Mac OS X v10.7 Lion

Mac OS X accessibility

Mac OS X comes with a screen reader called VoiceOver, as well as a screen magnification programme. It has "out of the box" support for over 40 Braille displays, and also allows you to customise colours and text size.
